Gold Coast SUNS defender Matthew Warnock fractured  his left radius after falling awkwardly on his arm during the Gold Coast SUNS 38-point loss to Port Adelaide at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.

Warnock has undergone surgery to repair the damage and insert a plate.

GC SUNS General Manager Football Operations Marcus Ashcroft confirmed the results to goldcoastfc.com.au

"Matthew was transported to hospital immediately after the game on Saturday night where it was confirmed that he had fractured his left radius."

"He underwent surgery yesterday and we anticipate that the injury will keep Matthew sidelined for at least  eight weeks."
