Gold Coast SUNS defender Jarrod Harbrow will undergo surgery to repair damage to his right elbow.

Harbrow suffered a fracture to his elbow during the second term of Saturday night's QClash 3 against Brisbane.

GC SUNS General Manager - Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft confirmed that Harbrow would require surgery.

"Jarrod had scans on his elbow on Sunday where it was determined that he will need surgery to repair the injury."

"Our High Performance Manager, Andrew Weller and Jarrod flew to Melbourne this afternoon for further consultation with surgeon Greg Hoy."

Ashcroft said Hoy delivered a relatively positive report for Harbrow.

"Jarrod has suffered a serious injury, however early reports indicate that he may miss closer to 8 - 10 weeks, rather than the three months we initially feared."
