Gold Coast SUNS fans were ecstatic yesterday after reading in the Sunday Mail that Karmichael Hunt is poised to extend his contract with the club.

Hunt highlighted his commitment to the club telling readers he would love to be part of the GC SUNS first finals campaign.

"We have such a talented group, fingers crossed we could be playing finals in the next few years and I would love to be part of it."

Hunt added that was enjoying his time with the club.

"I love being a part of this club," he said. "I feel like I can easily take information on board and I'm always willing to improve.

"I believe I can contribute to the club down the line.

GC SUNS Football Manager Marcus Ashcroft said the club was sure Hunt could play a key role in the future.

"His improvement has been phenomenal," Ashcroft said.
