Gold Coast SUNS skipper Gary Ablett says the team can’t wait to get back to the Gabba and take on the Lions on their turf.

Speaking exclusively to goldcoastfc.com.au, Ablett declared Saturday night's QClash as the teams biggest test for the season to date.

"Our first QClash game will be another milestone for the Club"

"We know we are big chance to bring the trophy back to the Gold Coast and we really need all of the Gold Coast to get to Brisbane for this clash," Ablett said.

Ablett said that despite the teams unacceptable performance against Essendon, the GC SUNS were ready to go head to head with the Lions in what will be one the biggest game played in Queensland.

"It's going to be a massive game for both clubs, we have seen how important rivalry matches have become in Western Australia and South Australia"

"This is a great opportunity for us to get a win on the board early in our rivalry with the Lions.

Ablett encouraged GC SUNS fans to play a vocal and visual role at the Gabba this week

"The support of our fans will be vital, we need to make sure we fill the stadium with red, its our home game and there's no room for other colours."
