Gold Coast has dominated the AFL Coaches’ Association votes from the Round 14 victory against North Melbourne, with six SUNS polling in the match at Metricon Stadium.

Ben Ainsworth was judged best afield with his 23 disposals, 15 score involvements, 11 marks and 613 metres gained earning him the perfect 10 votes.

Rising Star nominee Noah Anderson continued his terrific season and was voted second-best behind Ainsworth, receiving seven votes for his efforts which included 23 disposals, five clearances and a goal.

Hugh Greenwood polled six votes for his 23 disposals, seven clearances and six tackles.

Ben King and Touk Miller received three votes apiece, with King kicking two goals and taking three contested marks and Miller having 23 disposals and five clearances in the midfield.

Rounding out the votes was Lachie Weller in his 100th AFL match, with his 20 disposals, five inside 50’s and 447 metres gained earning him one vote.

The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort to an individual player in a season.
