The Gold Coast SUNS AFL Women’s team will take part in a practice match this Saturday afternoon against Brisbane.

A young SUNS side took the competition by storm in their inaugural campaign in 2020 playing an exciting brand of football and have continued that into the second pre-season campaign.

AFLW Head Coach David Lake will be looking to finalise his side’s preparations ahead of the 2021 NAB AFLW Competition with a strong showing in the club’s only official hit out before the season begins on 28 January.

New SUNS Alison Drennan, Sarah Perkins, Annise Bradfield, Maddison Levi, Lucy Single, Daisy D’Arcy, Janet Baird, Bess Keaney and Wallis Randell will all be keen to impress the coaching group on their first outing for the club.

Jacqui Yorston won’t be available after suffering an injury to her ACL, while Emma Pittman will miss the game as she continues her return from injury and Ellie Hampson has been managed.

Due to COVID protocols the practice match will be closed to the public.
