Injury Update: Cannon set to fire
Trent McKenzie will make his long awaited return to football this week for the GC SUNS reserves this Saturday against Mt.Gravatt at Metricon Stadium.
Despite a slow start, the GC SUNS fan favourite enjoyed a superb finish to the 2012 AFL Season – averaging 19 possessions in the last seven games of the season.
But the player dubbed as the “Cannon” has endured a frustrating pre-season, with the 39-game swingman having had to overcome knee tendinitis .
McKenzie, who has been extremely impressive on the training track over the last few weeks, will be itching to line-up against Mt. Gravatt.
McKenzie will be looking to build on his promising 2012 campaign by gaining valuable match fitness through the NEAFL to help fight his way back into the senior side.
