SUNS captain David Swallow and Lachie Weller will both be unavailable for selection for this weekend’s Round 15 fixture against North Melbourne in Hobart.

Swallow was subbed out of the match in the first quarter with concussion and SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull says he will go through the relevant protocols and target a return in Round 16.

“David’s going okay now. He unfortunately had a head knock and was concussed on the weekend,” Bull said.

“He’ll go through the relevant concussion protocols and miss this game, hopefully do everything right and keep tracking well to be available the week after.”

Weller is likely to be unavailable for a slightly longer period after succumbing to a hamstring injury in the defeat against the Power.

“It’s probably in the lower end of hamstring injuries in terms of how bad they can be. That’ll likely be a couple of weeks missed for Lachie,” Bull added.

Key defender Sam Collins was a late omission for the fixture against Port Adelaide after failing to recover from an ankle injury sustained in the lead-up to the Round 13 match in Perth.

“It’s improving slowly, but with Sam missing the last couple of weeks he needs a little block of training before being available for selection again. We’ll keep monitoring him week-to-week.”

In the VFL, Jordan Murdoch is also expected to miss 2-3 weeks of football after sustaining a calf injury against Aspley on Saturday.
