Alison Drennan came to the SUNS in 2020 after a season with both St Kilda and North Melbourne. She was a shrewd pick-up in the trade period, having a breakout season for the SUNS and starring in the midfield. Her career-best year saw her average 19.7 disposals and 6.9 tackles per game and finish as runner-up in the 2021 SUNS AFLW Club Champion. A former track athlete, Drennan is an elite runner and has brought a physical presence to the SUNS midfield since arriving on the Gold Coast.
