2022 pre-season preparations are just around the corner and a group of SUNS have shown they haven’t lost their touch over the break, taking part in the Noosa Triathlon.

Teaming up as ‘The Freckle Hammers’, Sam Collins, Lachie Weller and Nick Holman powered through the swim, run and run legs respectively with a combined time of 2:28:56 with Touk Miller, Darcy Macpherson and Jack Bowes also teaming us as ‘The Pretenders’ and going just better than their teammates, finishing the course in 2:19:37.

It was a matter of seconds splitting the last two SUNS Club Champions in the opening 1500m swim leg, with Miller leaving the water in a time of 25:52, a slender 14 seconds ahead of Collins.

The Pretenders took a further edge in the first transition, before two strong 40km rides from Macpherson (1:08:23) and Weller (1:17:34).

The final run home saw Bowes and Holman charge towards the finish line with some of the quickest splits among the hundreds on course, finishing the final 10km in 38:43 and 37:42 respectively.

The group will re-join their teammates in top shape when SUNS pre-season officially commences for 1-4 year players on Monday, November 22.
