As the SUNS prepare for a Round 4 fixture against an in-form Carlton, Senior Coach Stuart Dew addressed the media at the Austworld Centre today.

Metricon Stadium will be packed with SUNS Supporters looking for their team to bounce back after a Round 3 loss to the Giants against the blue who come into the game off the back of a 3-0 start to the season .

When asked about what his message would be to the playing group ahead of the Sunday afternoon fixture, Dew had a clear and concise message.

“We've got to get after the game,” Dew said.

“I think we waited to see what GWS had and they took it away from us really quickly.

We've got to get out and take the game on, we played safe, we weren't impactful and lacked physicality.

“We're under no illusion, we need to show up this week.”

One player who has impressed in the first three rounds of the season with his contest is 5th game player Alex Davies and Dew was full of praise for the young midfielder.

“He's exciting, just turned 19 so when you see him play, it's unbelievable.

“He plays above his experience, physically and he loves the contest which has earnt Alex his spot in the team.

“He's playing good footy and can play a number of different positions as well, a little bit more flexible than what we envisaged which is also a bonus.”

Dew hinted at the possibility of some changes when the team is finalised on Friday night, based heavily on the performances of players in the VFL side.

“We’ve spoken to the VFL players around, one game is good and two games even better and starts to become a form line.

“I guess pleasingly for the footy club, we're in a position where we can reward some behaviours down there but also hold to account some performances.

“It's just getting a balance of backing guys to respond and but also rewarding those guys and I think it'll be a bit of a mix.”

Make sure you get along and support the SUNS as they make the Blues see red, centre bounce will be at 4:10pm on Sunday afternoon at Metricon Stadium with gates open from 2:15pm.
