The Gold Coast SUNS have made one confirmed change to the team to take on Essendon at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

Malcolm Rosas Jnr will miss the trip south after injuring his hamstring in the thrilling win over Richmond.

He has been replaced in the side by Izak Rankine who returns from the AFL Health and Safety Protocols.

After both missing games through the same AFL Health and Safety Protocols in recent weeks, backline duo Jy Farrar and Oleg Markov have been recalled to the extended squad.

Markov missed Round 17 while Farrar was unavailable in Round 16 but played in last week’s VFL victory over Frankston.

Joining the pair on the extended interchange is Rory Atkins, Sam Day, Brayden Fiorini, Darcy Macpherson, Hewago Oea and Jeremy Sharp.

The final 22 will be announced at 5pm on Friday.

The Round 18 match will be Stuart Dew’s 100th game as SUNS Senior Coach, while David Swallow will also celebrate a milestone – equalling Jarrod Harbrow’s games record for the club with 192 appearances.

First bounce is at 4:40pm on Sunday afternoon at Marvel Stadium.
