Gold Coast SUNS forward Lily Quigley has penned an extension until at least the end of 2027.
Since arriving at the SUNS with Pick 1 in the inaugural AFLW Pre-season Draft, the 18-year-old has wasted little time making a strong impression, with her work rate earning her a Round 1 debut.
The 161-cm pocket rocket has showed plenty of promise across all four matches so far this season, dashing from contest-to-contest and nailing her first two majors thanks to her eyes-up footy instincts.
The former GWS Giants and Brisbane Lions Academy product is thrilled to continue living out her AFLW dream as a SUN.
“I’m really happy. This is all I’ve ever wanted and it’s such a big dream (of mine),” Quigley shared.
“There’s nowhere else I’d want to be. The SUNS have been so good to me over the last six months so it’s (extending) unreal.”
Gold Coast SUNS AFLW Head Coach Rhyce Shaw was thrilled for the emerging star.
“Lily is a ripper. She’s a great story for our club and our players and we’re just thrilled to have her,” Shaw said.
“Lily’s so grateful for the opportunity and she shows that everyday. She’s not going to take anything for granted and she’s driven to be the best she can be.
“Hopefully we can celebrate her signing on with a good win this week.”
