SUNS defender Charlie Ballard will miss the remainder of the 2022 Toyota AFL Premiership Season after injuring his knee in the QClash at the Gabba on Saturday night.

GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Qscan Injury Update scans had revealed damage to Ballard’s medial collateral ligament.

“Charlie had a player fall across his knee and has unfortunately injured his medial collateral ligament (MCL) of his right knee,” Bull said.

“That will unfortunately mean Charlie will miss the remainder of the season while we rehab that.”

Two players returned from injury in the VFL on the weekend; Malcolm Rosas Jnr (hamstring) and Alex Davies (knee).

“They both had successful returns, Mal had a one-week hamstring injury which he came back from really strongly,” Bull said.

“Alex Davies did an excellent job with the rehab of his MCL injury, he missed three games and performed well on the weekend.”
