The Gold Coast SUNS Academy’s fixtures as part of the Coates Talent League Boys and Girls competitions have today been confirmed.

Formerly the NAB League, the Coates Talent League is Australia’s premier underage football pathway competition for boys and girls in the eastern states with teams comprised mostly of under 18 players.

The Coates Talent League features 12 boys and girls programs from Victoria and one from Tasmania for the full season, while academy programs from New South Wales (GWS GIANTS and Sydney Swans), Queensland (Gold Coast SUNS and Brisbane Lions) and Northern Territory (NT Academy) compete in a selection of games mostly early in the season.

The SUNS first Talent League Boys match will be in Round 1 when the squad travel to Highgate Recreation Reserve to take on Calder Cannons on Sunday, March 26.

The squad will also take on Eastern Ranges at the same venue a week later and the Northern Knights again at Craigieburn on Sunday, April 16 before facing the Northern Territory at Heritage Bank Stadium on Saturday, April 29.

The SUNS Academy have three matches as part of the Talent League Girls competition, firstly against GWV Rebels on Sunday, May 21 at IKON Park, Western Jets at Springfield’s Brighton Homes Arena on Sunday, May 28 and finally against Oakleigh Chargers in Frankston on Sunday, June 4.

The 2023 home-and-away fixture for boys and girls includes community access periods to allow players to compete in community, school and representative football throughout the season.

Coates Talent League Boys and Girls matches will be live streamed on the Coates Talent League app. Further broadcast details will be announced prior to the commencement of the season.
