In wet conditions at Metricon Stadium, Port Adelaide have defeated the Gold Coast SUNS by 37-points, pushing their way up to ninth place on the AFL ladder with a 12.16 (88) to 7.9 (51) victory.

After the Power opened up a three-goal lead at the main break, the SUNS booted the first two majors of the second half to get within one straight kick of last year’s preliminary finalists.

But that was as close as Gold Coast would get, with the Power slotting the next four goals to take control of the game and establish an unassailable lead.

Brandon Matera had one of his most complete performances in a red and gold guernsey, finishing with an equal career-high 26 disposals (12 contested), nine marks, four clearances, six inside 50s and two goals.

Kade Kolodjashnij was again prolific across half-back with 27 touches and eight rebound 50s, while Charlie Dixon slotted three goals for the home side in conditions not suited to power forwards.
