The GC SUNS have locked in its team for Saturday night’s Round 4 clash against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium.

Ben Ainsworth will take the field for his 100th AFL Game in front of friends and family. A momentous occasion for the 2016 #4 draft pick, who grew up playing his junior football in Morwell, Victoria, and made his AFL Debut in Round 1 2017 against the Brisbane Lions.

Ainsworth will become the 17th player to reach the milestone for the club.

As confirmed earlier today, the SUNS will blood 18-year-old midfielder Bailey Humphrey for his first AFL game.

Humphrey, who was taken with Pick 6 at last year’s NAB AFL Draft, comes into the side in place of Sam Flanders who is set to miss the next six weeks with an MCL injury.

Versatile defender Mac Andrew is in for his first AFL game of 2023 after playing the last four of the 2022 season, replacing Jy Farrar.

Jy Farrar, Ned Moyle, James Tsitas, and Alex Sexton have all been listed as emergencies for the match with one of those players to be selected as the substitute 60 minutes before bounce on Saturday.

The match against St Kilda gets underway at 7.30pm AEST and will be broadcast live on Channel 7 on the Gold Coast as well as Fox Footy and Kayo.
