A record four Gold Coast SUNS are in contention to feature in the AFLPA’s 22under22 team.

StreetSmarts SUNS Academy trio Darcie Davies, Sunny Lappin and Ava Usher are all eyeing their maiden selection while star forward Havana Harris is up for her second nomination.

21-year-old Davies has taken her game to another level in her third season, averaging career-best numbers of 15 hit-outs and 12 disposals. The emerging ruck is ranked inside the top 10 for contested marks and has hit the scoreboard on a number of occasions.

2025 draftees Lappin and Usher have made an immediate impact since their Round 1 debuts. The crafty duo have slotted seamlessly into the SUNS engine room and regularly contributed to the scoreboard, kicking 20 goals between them this season.

After finishing as the SUNS leading goalkicker in her debut season with 11 goals, Harris has had another stellar season, booting 19 goals and placing her amongst the league’s top scorers. At just 20 years of age, she also leads the league for marks on lead (2.6 average).
