The Gold Coast SUNS have traded with the Sydney Swans in a deal that sees key position player Giselle Davies depart the club.
The trade sees the SUNS gain pick 55 in exchange.
Davies played six games in 2022 after rising through the ranks of the SUNS Academy. She also kicked her maiden goal on debut in Round 2 of Season Seven.
“Giselle has been a valued member of our AFLW program over the last three seasons and numerous more years prior to that as part of our Academy,” GC SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said.
“A Gold Coast junior, she’s another graduate out of the SUNS Academy who has earned her opportunity to represent her hometown club in the AFLW.
“We would like to wish Giselle all the best in this new opportunity.”
The exchange sees the SUNS strengthen its suite of draft selections ahead of the conclusion of the AFLW Trade Period on Thursday. The SUNS currently hold selections 14, 35, 38, 53, 54, 55 and 59.
Trade Summary:
SUNS receive: Pick 55
SUNS send: Giselle Davies
