An incredible eight young StreetSmarts SUNS Academy prospects have earned selection in the Allies squad for the upcoming 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships - Under 18 Boys.

It’s a sea of red and gold for the Allies with the SUNS Academy boasting almost a third of the 26-man squad that contains an incredible 11 Queenslanders.

The group includes three Broadbeach Cats products in Cooper Collins, Koby Coulson and Kalani White alongside a pair of Burleigh Bombers juniors in Beau Addinsall and Jonah Harris.

Cairns City Lions junior Caleb Nancarrow (Surfers Paradise), Dylan Patterson (Palm Beach Currumbin) and and Whitsunday Sea Eagles youngster Grady Turner (Wilston Grange) round out the suite of Academy products in the squad to feature at this year’s National Championships, which begins this Sunday.

“It is incredible to see eight of our emerging talents from the StreetSmarts SUNS Academy selected in the squad,” GC SUNS StreetSmarts Academy Manager Kath Newman said.

“It’s fantastic recognition for each of these boys to earn this opportunity.

“To have so much Gold Coast representation in a squad that comprises the best young talents from across Queensland, the Northern Territory, New South Wales and Tasmania, is a testament to the work happening within our Academy and at community football clubs across the Gold Coast.”

The cohort follows in the steps of several current SUNS AFL players including Jed Walter, Will Graham, Jake Rogers, Ethan Read and Leo Lombard who all represented the Allies in recent years.

The Allies begin its campaign this Sunday against South Australia in Blacktown.
