The GC SUNS are calling on the Gold Coast Community to RizeUp against domestic violence, today launching its RizeUp membership.
The SUNS will later this month host its fifth Round to RizeUp, an annual fixture in conjunction with Official Charity Partner RizeUp dedicated to raising funds and awareness for families fleeing domestic violence.
In Australia, one in four children are exposed to domestic and family violence in their home.
Since 2012, RizeUp has furnished more than 3,200 homes, creating warm, friendly and safe environments for thousands of Australians to focus on rebuilding their lives after violence.
The $50 membership package, of which 100% of proceeds will be donated to RizeUp, includes general admission entry to the Round to Rize Up match - Round 16 match against Melbourne at People First Stadium alongside other exclusive SUNS member benefits.
“The work RizeUp does in ensuring families in need have the basic necessities and tools to live a prosperous and safe life is inspiring, and as a club, we are incredibly proud of the support we have been able to provide RizeUp’s endeavours for more than a decade,” GC SUNS General Manager – Commercial & Consumer Andrew Thomas said.
“By choosing to RizeUp with a SUNS RizeUp membership, you can make a direct contribution to families across Australia affected by domestic and family violence.”
The partnership between RizeUp and the Gold Coast SUNS extends beyond 11 years, with the Round to RizeUp initiative having raised more than $60,000 since the first edition in 2021.
RizeUp CEO and founder Nicolle Edwards says the partnership between RizeUp and the Gold Coast SUNS continues to make a significant impact assisting families in need.
“We’re so proud of the strong, enduring partnership we share with the Gold Coast SUNS,” Edwards said.
“To have a club of this calibre walk beside us as we do the work of rebuilding lives is something we’ll never take for granted.
“Their support, and that of their incredible members, has helped us bring hope, dignity and safety to thousands of families when they’ve needed it most. Together, we’re not just raising awareness - we’re changing lives.”
