Matt Rowell has won his first Marcus Ashcroft Medal, voted best-on-ground in Saturday’s record-breaking win over the Brisbane Lions.

Matt Rowell has won his first Marcus Ashcroft Medal, voted best-on-ground in Saturday’s record-breaking win over the Brisbane Lions.

Rowell finished with an 15 clearances to go with 37 disposals and 12 tackles in a trademark display in midfield.

Rowell was one of four SUNS to receive votes in the Marcus Ashcroft Medal voting which was voted upon by Michael Whiting (AFL.com.au), Alastair Lynch (Fox Footy) and Jamie Stanton (ABC).
