Noah Anderson’s superb 2025 season has earned the ultimate reward from the AFL coaches with the SUNS skipper winning the coveted AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year at Thursday night’s AFL Awards.
A 34-disposal, three-goal outing against the Bombers on Wednesday night rounded out a sparkling home and away season for the 24-year-old who finished on 103 votes as joint winner alongside Geelong’s Bailey Smith.
It is the first time a SUNS player has surpassed 100 votes in the award’s history, passing the benchmark of 98 set by Touk Miller in 2022. Anderson also becomes the club’s second winner of the award alongside Miller.
Anderson ranked third in the AFL for disposals (30.2 per game), fourth in clearances (7.1 per game) to go with 11 goals.
