The Gold Coast SUNS can confirm Sam Flanders has advised the club of an openness to explore his opportunities during the upcoming Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

Flanders has played 89 games across six seasons at the club since being selected with Pick 11 in the 2019 AFL Draft and has two years remaining on his contract.

“Sam expressed an interest in exploring other opportunities for next year at today’s exit meeting, however we have reiterated to Sam that he is a contracted player with our Football Club and part of our best 23 players,” Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Player Talent and Strategy, Craig Cameron, said.

The club has also been in ongoing discussions with Malcolm Rosas Jnr and his management throughout the year, and will help facilitate a trade in the coming weeks.

The 2025 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period runs from 6th October – 15th October.
