Gold Coast SUNS co-captain Niamh McLaughlin has earned a maiden All Australian squad selection.
The 32-year-old was today named in the extended 42-player squad which will be trimmed to a final 21-player team at the AFLW Awards night later this month.
McLaughlin had a career-best season in 2025, playing in several roles across half-back and in the SUNS midfield after also becoming the first Irish person to captain an AFL/AFLW side.
With her trademark dash and wicked side-step, McLaughlin averaged a career-high 23.3 disposals at 72.9% efficiency whilst also leading the AFLW for total bounces for the second time in her three seasons in the competition.
The tri-code athlete has missed just one match since joining the SUNS in 2023.
