Inaugural SUN Jamie Stanton has been named as a Life Member of the Gold Coast SUNS at the 2025 AFLW Club Champion event.
Stanton is the SUNS first AFLW player to be bestowed the prestigious honour which recognises her extensive contributions to the club, women’s program and wider Gold Coast football community over the last seven seasons.
In the 2019 AFLW Sign & Trade Period, the foundation AFLW player joined the club as its first signing and has since forged a distinguished career.
During her tenure, Stanton has been named in the All-Australian squad (2020) and awarded several accolades including inaugural Club Champion (2020), SUNS Leading Goalkicker (2021, 2023) and SUNS Players’ Player (2020).
In 2025, the SUNS leader reached several milestones, playing her 50th game in the red, gold and blue, just weeks before playing her milestone 75th AFLW match.
Stanton’s profound impact on the growth of the game in the Sunshine State extends beyond the four walls of the Austworld Centre, with the experienced SUN having fostered the next generation of footballers with roles in the Queensland State Team and at Southport State High School.
Stanton is the second female to join the illustrious list of Gold Coast SUNS players and staff.
