Darcie Davies and Charlotte Wilson have put pen to paper, signing on with the Gold Coast SUNS for the next two years.

The contracts will see the duo don the red, gold and blue all the way through to the end of the 2027 AFLW season.

Standing at 184cm, Davies’ versatility in the ruck and up forward is a valuable tool in Rhyce Shaw’s side. Since her debut in 2023, the StreetSmarts SUNS Academy product has played 30 games, missing just three games in as many seasons.

The young SUN recorded several career highs in 2025 including 20 hitouts (Round 8), plus 17 disposals and 11 contested possessions in Round 11. Davies also kicked a career-best four goals across the 2025 campaign and averaged 8.5 disposals and 5.7 contested possessions to go with 3.4 tackles per game.

Polling in the top 10 at the Gold Coast SUNS AFLW Club Champion on Saturday, Davies shared her excitement in committing to her home side for another two seasons.

“I’m very very excited,” Davies said.

“It was an easy decision for me — I can see where the club is going and I want to be apart of that.”

Since joining the SUNS in 2024, Wilson has played a pivotal role in the Gold Coast’s line of defence.

With 50 AFLW games now under her belt, the 24-year-old provides plenty of experience for a young and developing side.

With an uncompromising attack on the ball, Wilson has shown she’s not afraid to put her body in the line, recording an average of 5.1 intercept possessions, 4.8 spoils and 5.2 pressure acts in 2025.

The key defender reflected on what being a SUN means to her and her excitement for what lies ahead.

“It means a lot, a lot more than I thought … admittedly,” Wilson said.

“The culture that we’re growing and the group that we have is really special.

“I’m excited to see where the talent takes us in the future.”

“We’re thrilled to have both Darcie and Charlotte commit to our club for the next two seasons,” Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Football Craig Cameron shared.

“Darcie has been a long-time member of our club, through our StreetSmarts SUNS Academy and on to our AFLW list, and both players have made an impact in a variety of roles across the season.

“We’re excited to see them continue to develop and impact our program in years to come.”
