Four-time All Australian midfielder Anne Hatchard is officially a Gold Coast SUN after a trade was completed with the Adelaide Crows.

Hatchard lands on the Gold Coast ahead of the 2026 AFLW season in a trade that not only sees the SUNS bring in a player of Hatchard’s calibre, but also bolster its suite of selections ahead of this year’s Telstra AFLW Draft, in line with the club’s trade and draft strategy.

The three-time Adelaide Club Champion has been a mainstay of the AFLW competition since the inaugural season, featuring in all three of Adelaide’s premierships as well as taking out Grand Final best-on-ground honours in the Crows’ most recent success in 2022.

Known for her competitive nature and unwavering attack on the ball, Hatchard arrives at the SUNS with more than 100 games of AFLW experience.

In 2025, the 27-year-old featured in all 14 matches for the Crows, securing yet another podium finish in the Club Champion count and taking out the Players’ Player award.

SUNS AFLW Head Coach Rhyce Shaw is thrilled to welcome Hatchard to the Gold Coast

“From the very start, Anne has been a winner right throughout her AFLW career and has formed part of high-performing and high-achieving teams,” Shaw said.

“With more than 100 AFLW games under her belt and a remarkable list of achievements across the journey, her experience is a fantastic addition to our squad.

“Most importantly, she’s got the hunger and drive to keep getting better, to continue winning and help our club take the next steps forward.

“We’re excited to welcome Anne and her young family to the Gold Coast and looking forward to getting started.”

The SUNS currently hold picks 14, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 32 in the 2025 Telstra AFLW Draft. The AFLW Trade Period concludes on Wednesday, December 10.
