StreetSmarts SUNS Academy graduate Sienna McMullen and key defender Clara Fitzpatrick are locked in for 2026 and putting pen to paper on one-year contract extensions.
Fitzpatrick has played 26 matches across three seasons for the SUNS adds invaluable experience to a young Gold Coast squad, while McMullen forms part of a group of burgeoning up-and-coming talent on the list.
After two injury interrupted campaigns to begin her AFLW career, McMullen is thrilled to be locked in at her hometown club.
“It’s been a rollercoaster ride over the last couple of seasons,” McMullen said.
“I love this club and I love the playing group. After getting the chance to debut this year, I can’t wait to run out with these girls again next season.”
After only picking up a Sherrin for the first time on a vacation-turned-temporary residency in 2016, Fitzpatrick will head in to her sixth AFLW season in 2026.
“I’ve absolutely loved my time on the Gold Coast and at the SUNS. This group of girls mean a lot to me, and I’m thrilled to help this team take some big steps forward next year.”
The pair’s extensions follow the SUNS acquiring the services of four-time All Australian Anne Hatchard who joined the SUNS during this week’s AFLW Trade Period.
