After guiding the Gold Coast SUNS to its first finals berth in his inaugural captaincy campaign, Noah Anderson will lead the SUNS again as captain in 2026.
Anderson will be supported once again by vice-captains Touk Miller and Sam Collins along with Matt Rowell, Ben King and Wil Powell who will remain in the leadership panel for a second consecutive year.
The 25-year-old shared his honour of leading the Gold Coast in 2026, while recognising the wealth of leaders throughout the SUNS squad.
“I’m extremely honoured to be named captain again. I’m lucky to be able to lead an amazing group of players, it feels like we’re on a journey together and we’re heading in the right direction,” Anderson said.
“What has really stood out to me is the number of leaders we have right across the group, not just the boys who have been appointed in the leadership group.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for myself, Touk, Sam, Ben, Matt and Wil, but it’s also the fact we have so many players stepping up, setting standards and showing their leadership qualities in our group that is helping us build something really special here."
Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Football Craig Cameron congratulated the six players appointed to the leadership group and recognised the significant roles that will also be played by several of the club’s most experienced players.
“While it’s a great privilege to be named as a leader and a captain, it’s an even greater accolade to be elected by your peers and coaches to carry the values and the standards we demand as a football club,” Cameron said.
“We’re thrilled for Noah to be captaining our club for a second season, supported by Touk and Sam as vice-captains, and Matt, Ben and Wil in the wider leadership group.
“While these players will serve in official leadership positions, what we do have at our club is a great number of experienced players and emerging leaders who will also play key roles in seeing our football club continue to take steps forward in 2026.”
