The Gold Coast SUNS have confirmed their VFL team to take on the Palm Beach Currumbin Lions in Sunday’s Practice Match at People First Stadium.

The local football club has produced a host of talents that now feature on the SUNS AFL and AFLW lists, including key forward Jed Walter and defender Caleb Graham and 2025 draftee Dylan Patterson, who will compete in SUNS colors against their former QAFL side.

Walter returns to the field this weekend after missing last Friday’s matches with suspension.

SUNS fans will score another look at Charlie Ballard, who is set to run out for his second match since returning from an ACL injury, alongside new recruits Jamarra-Ugle HaganAvery Thomas and Koby Coulson.

The player voted best on ground by SUNS coach Tate Kaesler and Palm Beach Currumbin coach David Armitage will be awarded the inaugural Jackson Graham Medal in honour of the late Palm Beach Currumbin player and brother of SUNS midfielder Will Graham.

Entry to the Smithy’s VFL is free for all SUNS members and valid AFL ticket holders. Cheer on the SUNS VFL from 1:30pm AEST before the AFL action gets underway at 5:10pm AEST.
