Gold Coast added 14 fresh faces to their playing list over the off-season and of that group, only Izak Rankine (hamstring) and Josh Corbett (knee) are unavailable for selection heading into Round 1.

Midfielders Anthony Miles and George Horlin-Smith have put in strong pre-season efforts and are in the frame to make their SUNS’ debuts, despite the latter missing the JLT game against Sydney.

Jordan Murdoch featured at half-back in the first JLT game, but is competing with the likes of Jarrod Harbrow and Pearce Hanley for a spot, who both offer plenty of run-and-carry in that part of the field.

State-league recruits Chris Burgess and Sam Collins performed well across the two JLT games, and will be hopeful of securing key position posts at either end of the ground.

With Rory Thompson out due to injury, Jack Hombsch is another tall defender who looks likely to play to combat St Kilda’s tall timber.

Draftees Jack Lukosius and Ben King got a taste of senior footy during the pre-season and put forward strong cases for selection.

Jez McLennan, Caleb Graham and Corey Ellis, who has recovered from a groin injury, continue to train strongly however did not feature during the JLT Series.

The SUNS’ newest recruit Sam Fletcher only joined the club late last week and will look to develop his craft before pressing for selection.

Out of all our new faces, who do you think will be making their debut in the red and gold?
