Versatile tall Caleb Lewis will become Gold Coast’s fifth debutant of the season this Sunday at People First Stadium.
Lewis learned the news that he would be running out against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon from captain Noah Anderson in front of teammates at Friday morning’s main training session.
Lewis joined the SUNS during the 2025 mid-season rookie draft and has been a consistent contributor in multiple roles in the club’s VFL side this season.
The 22-year-old has been utilised as both as a key defender and key forward in 2026, most recently returning to the forward line and kicking eight goals across the past fortnight.
The Dingley Dingoes junior joins StreetSmarts SUNS Academy quartet Zeke Uwland, Jai Murray, Beau Addinsall and Dylan Patterson to have made their AFL debuts this season.
“Caleb has impressed in multiple roles in the VFL this season and we’re excited to see what he can bring to our AFL side,” GC SUNS General Manager of Football Craig Cameron said.
“He’s overcome some injury troubles throughout pre-season and we couldn’t be more excited to see him now earn the opportunity to make his debut this Sunday."
“It’s also fantastic recognition for our recruitment team, led by Kall Burns, to identify the potential Caleb boasts and bring him to our football club.”
The final team to take on the Bulldogs will be named at 5pm this evening.
