Mac Andrew and Leo Lombard are both in contention to be named in the AFLPA’s 22Under22 team.

The 22Under22 team recognises the finest young talent in the AFL, comprising the best players aged 22 or under for the entirety of the AFL home and away season.

Now in his fifth season, Andrew is eyeing a third consecutive selection after being named at Full Back in both 2024 and 2025 teams. The versatile tall is averaging career-best numbers in 2026, recording 18.2 disposals and 2.7 intercept marks per game while also pinch hitting in the ruck throughout the season.

Lombard begun his season in sparkling fashion, named as the Opening Round Rising Star nominee and he hasn’t taken a backward step. The 19-year-old has played in all 20 SUNS matches to date, being an ever present figure inside forward 50 and hitting the scoreboard in 10 matches.
