The Gold Coast SUNS have added premiership player Nathan Murphy to its coaching panel ahead of the 2027 AFL season.

Murphy joins the SUNS from Collingwood where he was a Development Coach and Backline Assistant Coach in the club’s VFL program in 2026.

He was a key member of Collingwood’s 2023 premiership side, following which he retired as a player following 57 games for the Magpies.

Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Football Craig Cameron says Murphy will add invaluable experience to the SUNS coaching panel.

“We’re excited for Nathan to continue his coaching journey here on the Gold Coast,” Cameron said.

“He brings a wealth of knowledge as both a premiership player who has since transitioned into the coaching ranks this year.”

“We look forward to welcoming Nathan and his young family to our football club."
