Matt Rowell has taken out the Hostplus Most Professional award at this year’s SUNS Club Champion.

The award is voted on by the club’s support staff and encompasses all aspects of the football program.

The 2025 Brownlow medallist battled injury concerns throughout various stages of the 2026 campaign, but continued to lead by example in his commitment to rehabilitation, recovery and preparation.

Rowell played the final 14 matches of the 2026 season, finishing the home and away season as the equal league leader for clearances (7.6 per game) and among the competition’s elite for contested possessions (14.2 per game, AFL #4) and tackles (5.8 per game, AFL #4).

Rowell joins current teammates Will Graham (2025), Bodhi Uwland (2024) and Touk Miller (2020) as winners of the award.
