GOLD Coast’s most passionate football fans are expected to turn up in droves to get their fix of finals footy, with the 2013 Toyota AFL Grand Final to be broadcast live on Metricon Stadium’s Big Screen during Robbie McEwen’s Gold Coast Festival of Cycling this Saturday afternoon.
As the excitement builds in Melbourne ahead of what promises to be a thrilling clash between the competition’s two form teams, Metricon Stadium will provide AFL fans unable to be at the MCG with an opportunity to be a part of the match day action.
What better place to watch the biggest match of the AFL season than at the AFL’s #1 venue for match-day experience.
Why not make a day of it and show your support for Robbie McEwen’s Gold Coast Festival of Cycling, a two day festival which includes a host of events for riders and runners of all levels.
With the Metricon Stadium and the surrounding Carrara precinct hosting the annual cycling Festival, Metricon Stadium Operations Manager David Bennett told goldcoastfc.com.au the Stadium’s operations team were already planning for an influx of fans to attend this Saturday’s live AFL Grand Final blockbuster.
“We are looking forward to opening up the Gates this weekend, not just for the Gold Coast Festival of Cycling but also for those interested in watching the AFL’s biggest match on the biggest digital screen on the Gold Coast,” he said.
“We’re expecting a significant turn-out, so we encourage everyone to arrive early to avoid any congested traffic markings caused by the festival’s activities.”
With the Gold Coast Festival of Cycling’s family fun run to start at 5am, Gates will be open early on Saturday morning and will be operating right through until the conclusion of the 2013 AFL Grand Final.
