SUNS forward/midfielder Kate Surman has been nominated for the AFLW Coates Hire Goal of the Year after her sublime effort in the Round 4 match against North Melbourne.

At the beginning of the third quarter, Surman was tailing an opposition player but found a burst of speed to collect the football mid-stride, shrug a tackle and wheel onto her right boot to kick the goal from 40 metres out.

It was the first of a rapid-fire two goals which brought the SUNS back into the contest to trail by three points.
