SUNS star forward Kalinda Howarth has been voted the Members’ Player of the Year, presented by Mackay Regional Council.

The award, which was presented at Gold Coast’s 2020 AFLW Club Champion event, was voted on by AFLW members. 

It’s another accolade in a glittering debut season for Howarth who last week became the club’s first ever AFLW All Australian.

The 20-year-old played in all of Gold Coast’s seven AFLW games, booting nine goals to finish third in the league’s overall goalkicking. 

She was nominated for the NAB AFLW Rising Star Award in Round 3 after kicking three goals to level the score in the first ever AFLW QClash.

Howarth also earnt selection in the inaugural 22Under22 side while being nominated for the AFLW MVP award as well. 

The goalsneak finished the season averaging 10 disposals, two tackles, two inside 50’s and over a goal per game.
