Late in the final quarter of the Gold Coast SUNS’ 40-point win over Geelong, Alex Sexton found himself on the end of a Gary Ablett pass and burst his way through the midfield.

From behind the centre circle, Sexton booted the ball forward with just two players in the contest - SUNS teenager Jack Martin and Cats veteran Corey Enright.

Martin turned on the jets 50m out from goal, showing his elite speed as he ran away from Enright. The youngster collected the ball, took a bounce and then bombed the ball into the scoreboard from point-blank range to register his first career AFL goal.

GC SUNS and AFL fans took to Twitter to praise Martin and goldcoastfc.com.au has compiled some of the best responses.
