Gold Coast SUNS skipper Gary Ablett last night came third in the 2011 AFL Players Association MVP.

Ablett was beaten home by Carlton’s Chris Judd and Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury.

Judd’s dominance this year was reflected in the final voting tally. He took the Award with 1347 votes, followed by Scott Pendlebury (456 votes), and Gary Ablett Jr (389 votes).

Ablett, who won the GC SUNS Best and Fairest on Friday night is already a three time winner of the AFLPA MVP.

Earlier in the month Ablett tied with Carlton’s Marc Murphy in The Age Newspapers, Player of the Year and is expected to poll plenty of votes in the 2011 Brownlow Medal.
