Gold Coast SUNS International Rules representatives, Zac Smith and Trent McKenzie both believe the Australian team can bounce back in the second International Rules Test at Metricon Stadium on Friday night.
Speaking to goldcoastfc.com.au at White Water World, Smith said the team was determined to turnaround last weeks result.
“The boys were pretty disappointed with the effort, we had a really good meeting after the match and backed it up with a skills session this morning.”
“When you’re representing Australia, you don’t want to put in an effort like that, but we have the opportunity to get out there again on Friday night at Metricon.”
McKenzie, the youngest player in the squad said he was looking forward to more game time in the second test.
“Yeah I hope so, it was hard sitting there watching it on the sidelines for most of the game, but I think I will get more game time this week and want to contribute as much as I can.”
McKenzie said the experience of mixing with some of the games most professional players will help his game next year.
“It’s been good just to watch how they prepare for training and a game, we have such a young group with only a few experienced players, but this is a team with so much experience i think it will really benefit me.”
The second test gets underway at Metricon Stadium at 7.45pm on Friday night.
