Gold Coast SUNS midfielder Daniel Harris today announced his immediate retirement from AFL football.
Harris, who played his 150th AFL game in the GC SUNS inaugural match against Carlton in Round 2, played eleven matches this season.
Originally drafted with the 14th selection in the 2000 AFL Draft, the former Bendigo Pioneers junior played eight seasons with North Melbourne.
The GC SUNS selected Harris as a mature age rookie with its first selection in the 2010 Rookie Draft.
Harris played an instrumental role, assisting the development of the GC SUNS youngsters throughout the 2010 VFL season.
