Virgin Australia Chief Executive and Managing Director John Borghetti this week announced that the Airline would commence a Business Class service to the Gold Coast. 

Gary Ablett and his Gold Coast SUNS team mates now set to travel in even greater style with Virgin Australia now the only Airline to offer domestic Business Class services tothe Gold Coast.

Mr Borghetti saying the Gold Coast is an important destination in the Virgin Australia Network.

“The Gold Coast is an important city in the Virgin Australia network. We carry almost one million corporate andleisure Guests each year.

“With the introduction of Business Class services by the last quarter of 2011 and the opening of our new loungein early 2012, Virgin Australia is proudly responding to the tourism and the business sectors of the Gold Coast and South-east Queensland region,” he said.

While Virgin Australia progressively roll out the Business Class program with Business Class already available for sale on theAirbus A330-200, it was the announcement that Virgin Australia would soon be opening a Virgin Australia lounge at Gold Coast Airport with Business Class guests now looking forward to complimentary access to our lounges, priority check-in and luxurious cabin space and seating.

The announcement makes life a whole lot more comfortable for the Gold Coast SUNS who spend hours flying to and from the Gold Coast with Virgin Australia each week.

On the Gold Coast, the new 680 sqm Gold Coast lounge will offer luxury seating for up to 140 Guests who will enjoy a menu designed by Australian chef Luke Mangan as well as all of the creature comforts you would expect to find in a business class lounge,

  • A premium selection of beverages
  • Business services including complimentary WiFi, power, PC and printer
  • Entertainment and relaxation with newspapers, premium magazine titles along with high-definition televisions featuring FOXTEL and free-to-air programming.

Virgin Australia operates 138 services each week to the Gold Coast with more than 21,000 seats across the Boeing737 and Embraer E-Jet fleets.
