Don’t you love the week leading up to QCLASH games, especially when that beautiful silver Cup is sitting in your trophy cabinet, or in our case in Bluey McKenna’s office.

There is certainly an extra buzz in the air and so with just a few days until we take on the Lions in QClash 2, I thought it was time to head across to training to get the inside word on team selections and see if I could pass on a few tips.

Turns out the Canadian international AFL team were also at the venue watching the young Gold Coast SUNS in action, all eyes on Gary Ablett and his injured Hammy. Looked pretty fit to me.

The skipper not only trained well, but he looked fresh and in my opinion looked very sharp and I think if he is named to play, the Lions players will have a massive job on their hands containing him and David Swallow in the middle. There is something about young Davey Swallow, he’s a handsome young fellow isn’t he , probably needs to dye his hair red if he is ever really going to challenge for AFL’s sexiest man.

I had a chat with the Coach after the game and I think if he pulls up ok, he will be picked for the Clash, we’ll know at Five o’clock though wont we?

The Big K, The K-Bomb, K, Karmichael Hunt also trained well and showed some sign that he’s on the way back after getting over the flu, but while he completed the full session, I think he will play in the reserves this week but take it from me, Special K is desperate to play seniors again before the season is out and I know he’ll rip and tear in the twos this weekend.

The little pocket rocket Dion Prestia has trained well this week, as has Matt Shaw, I’d also keep an eye on Tom Hickey and Luke Russell, they are training really well, not bad fellas either.

I’ve also been training hard in the gym, showing my good friend Mr Sharky the way around the gym.

Fair dinkum old Sharky is a powder puff when it comes to lifting weights, lucky he has sharp fangs that’s for sure!!

No I’m just joking he is going ok and with a few more solid sessions under his gills he’ll be strutting around with the best of us.

I’m feeling confident ahead of this weekend’s QClash 2 and hope to see you all there! Go SUNS!
