The kids from the Cape have got amazing skills and I think lots of future AFL stars will come from remote far north Queensland in years to come.

I know it’s an interesting start to my blog, but these amazing indigenous kids from Bamaga and surrounding communities are on the Coast as part of the Clubs “No Boundaries “ program and when given the opportunity to let fly with the Sherrin on Metricon Stadium, they let loose and while I am an exceptionally gifted athlete, I have got to tell you I found it hard to keep up with these kids. I cant wait to see their faces when they watch the big game on Saturday.

I also caught up with little Daniel Harris just after he had announced his retirement from AFL footy, what a great career, 160 games and best of all, he got to finish it right here on the Gold Coast.

What a terrific bloke he is, I’ve spent many an hour in the gym with Harro and while he was always in awe of my physical strength, I secretly wish I had his toughness and ability on the field. Don’t tell Bluey that though because with Harro now out of the picture, I’m thinking of staking a claim for the spare spot. What number should I wear?

I’ve got another secret to share with you actually and this one involves our senior coach so it’s a little sensitive. Anyway, all year, I have been saying to Guy, Guy give Ablett a run and every week, he assures me that he’s in. Seems that until this morning, Guy actually thought I was speaking about Gary!!!!! So when I changed my approach a little and said “Hey Guy, why don’t you give Nathan Ablett a run? “ He stopped, thoughts for a minute, smiled and then walked away.

Take from the exchange what you will, but I’m a pretty good judge and we could see a bit of Ablett to Ablett action at Metricon Stadium on the weekend. Now that’s what I call a Super Saturday.

The boys have trained well all week and I think with a few fresh faces, they will be a very different side against the Crows on Saturday so make sure you are there to support them because together we are stronger.

Well that’s it for me I’m off to the Gym to run a few extra kilometres because the Game Day team are offering $2.50 pies to all Gold Coast SUNS members on Saturday and I intend to have a red hot crack at a meaty while the boys are out in the middle.

Take care and I’ll see you on Saturday early to watch that Israel Folau bloke run around against the Gold Coast SUNS reserves. They say he’s as big as Sunny, ha ha ha, LOL and I doubt that,

Cheers,
