The Gold Coast SUNS today confirmed that the Club has released High Performance Manager Dean Robinson from his contract, allowing him to accept a position with the Essendon Football Club.

General Manager – Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft said Robinson had made a valuable contribution to the GC SUNS and granted him the opportunity to join Essendon after he indicated a desire for his family to return to Victoria.

“Dean is an expert in his field, we will miss his knowledge base but respect his reason for relocating his family back to Victoria”.

“Dean has made a significant contribution to our football club during our inaugural year and on behalf of our players and coaches we thank him for his involvement and we wish him all the best in his new role with Essendon,” Ashcroft said.

Following Robinson’s departure, Ashcroft said the GC SUNS would review their strength and conditioning department at the end of the season.
