It was a brave showing by the SUNS in Round 3 against the Crows with a number of players continuing their strong starts to 2021 in AFL Fantasy.

Three players cracked the 100-point barrier with two reaching that mark for a second consecutive week and hitting form ahead of Round 4.

Hugh Greenwood (MID - $687K)

Greenwood was in a bullish mood against his former side as one of three SUNS to crack the 100-point mark. Of his 126 points, almost half (56 points) came from his game-high 14 tackles with the midfielder also racking up 16 kicks and seven handballs.

His price tag recovered slightly after dipping on the back of 53-point and 89-point outings in the opening two rounds, and with the possibility of the 29-year-old having a share of the ruck duties in weeks to come, is fair value at $687K and is less than 5% of Classic format teams.

Jack Bowes (DEF - $694K)

Bowes’ owners will hope he continues to fly under the radar of AFL Fantasy players with another strong outing against the Crows. Twenty kicks and eight tackles were the cornerstone pieces of a second 100+ point score for the season for the young defender whose season average now sits at 109.3.

Importantly for his owners, the vast majority of his 24 disposals were once again by foot, also taking seven kick-ins and playing on from six of them.

Those in the 98% of AFL Fantasy Classic players who don’t have him in their backlines are fast running out of time to jump onboard. His value has risen by $86K in the opening three rounds, and with a breakeven of 77, is likely to again this weekend.

Brandon Ellis (MID - $719K)

Backing up his best AFL Fantasy score in almost two years, Brandon Ellis was again among the SUNS best scorers on Good Friday with a fair spread of points across 16 kicks, nine handballs, seven marks, four tackles and a goal.

It’s the second consecutive 100+ point for Ellis whose experience is showing in his second season on the Gold Coast, picking up plenty of the ball around the ground.

It’s early days, but his 105.3 average is at career-best levels and he is a serious POD move with ownership sitting at just 0.4%.
