The Gold Coast SUNS have informed Paige Parker she would not be offered a new contract for the 2022 NAB AFLW season.

Parker has been with the SUNS for the clubs first two AFLW seasons after previously playing a year at the Brisbane Lions.

She has a total of 17 AFLW games to her name, playing 13 of those for the SUNS.

SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago thanked Parker for her contributions to the club.

“Paige has played an important role as an inaugural player in our AFLW team to help set up the foundations for a successful football program,” Sessarago said.

“We’re extremely grateful for the commitment Paige has shown to the team and club as a whole and she should be proud of what she’s accomplished as a footballer.

“We wish her all the best for what lies ahead.”

The SUNS currently have six list positions available after the retirements of Sam Virgo and Sally Riley, and delistings of Georgia Bevan, Molly Ritson, Jordann Hickey and Leah Kaslar.

The AFLW Sign & Trade period runs until June 25.
