The Gold Coast SUNS have secured a trade with Fremantle during the 2021 Continental AFL Trade Period for Will Brodie.

As part of the deal the SUNS will send Will Brodie, pick 19, pick 61 & pick 69 from the 2021 NAB AFL Draft in exchange for a 2022 2nd Round and 2022 4th Round Selection.

Brodie has played 25 games for the SUNS since being drafted at the 2016 NAB AFL Draft and played five games of AFL football in 2021.

“I’d like to thank Will for his commitment to the Gold Coast SUNS over the past 5 years and we wish him all the best as he explores a new opportunity with Fremantle,” Craig Cameron said.

“We’ve had a clear strategy this off-season; with minimal draft selections in 2021, to enhance our future draft position as well as consolidating the core of our list as we step forward into the next phase of the club’s development.”

In line with the club’s plan, the SUNS hold a very strong position heading into the 2022 NAB AFL Draft with 1x 1st Round Selection, 3 x 2nd Round Selections, 2 x 3rd Round Selections and 2 x 4th Round Selections.

The Continental Tyres Trade Period is set to conclude at 6:30pm AEST on Wednesday 13 October.
